This assignment was part of the SDC BRAC Social Cohesion Fund for Cox's Bazar District project, implemented by BRAC in collaboration with local partner NGOs. The project responded to the prolonged refugee crisis, as the extended presence of Rohingya refugees in Cox's Bazar created social tensions and risks of conflict with host communities. It aimed to foster social cohesion, reduce marginalization, and promote inclusive growth for both refugee and host communities. The broader programme emphasized skills training, employment opportunities, social rights, and climate adaptation. In Tranche 2, BRAC integrated environmental education and climate change adaptation into its Skills Development Programme (SDP) and Climate Change Programme (CCP). The focus was to equip youth learners, local NGOs, and CMSMEs with climate resilience skills, including risk identification, adaptation strategies, and climate-smart practices. As part of this phase, BRAC commissioned the development of climate change and adaptation training modules, delivered in Bangla and English, to enhance local understanding of climate risks and enable communities to adopt practical adaptation strategies. Following the award of this assignment to Disaster Management Watch, Communication and Development was engaged as a sub-consultant to support specialized services in communication, graphic design, and dissemination.
